Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidate Meena Upender Reddy won the Neredmet division by a margin of 782 votes in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.

Though the results of 149 divisions were declared on December 4, the Neredmet division counting was held up due to a marking issue in the ballot paper. The TRS candidate was then leading by 504 votes. The result of Neredmet was withheld by the State Election Commission as

there was a dispute on 544 votes with different marks.

The High Court had directed the SEC on Friday that if the number of votes with different marks exceed the majority, the result should be withheld.

The counting was taken up in the division on Wednesday and the TRS candidate secured 168 votes in the 544 votes and emerged victorious with a total margin of 782 votes.
