GHMC proposes special cell for women

A separate cell for women’s rights was proposed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) at a meeting here on Tuesday. The cell will comprise a woman officer of the civic body, an NGO fighting for women’s cause and a citizen.

“Every government office should have a special committee



exclusively to address issues pertaining to women and it is important to have such committees to avoid harassment of women at workplaces. The separate cell for women will come in handy for addressing our issues,” said Ayesha Rubina, corporator of Ahmednagar division.
