Greater Hyderabad Municipal Commissioner DR B Janardhan Reddy said on Wednesday that the badly damaged roads would be given a facelift with repair works commencing from Thursday. He said that about Rs 75 crores has been sanctioned to carry on repair work along the 180 kilometer stretch in the city. The Commissioner directed engineering officials to ensure that quality and standards are maintained while executing the works. He laid down certain guidelines to engineering officials to comply with in letter and spirit and wanted them to
maintain M Book, update progress of work online, and inform JNTU, Osmania and IIT professors about the work in progress, and co-ordinate with traffic police and water works departments for smooth functioning of works.
The Commissioner said that a one day special training programme to engineers is being conducted on Thursday to apprise them of the expected compliances from taking up the road repair works. Engineers are likely to be trained on special care to be taken in areas where Metro Rail works are also underway.
