A day after the State government approved two mega projects worth over Rs 5,000 crore, elected representatives expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao.
On behalf of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Mayor G Vijaya Laxmi along with Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shoban Reddy, Venkateswara Colony Division corporator Manne Kavitha Reddy and other elected representatives on Friday thanked the Ministers for the projects.
“It’s a matter of pride and joy that Rs 3,866 crore have been
sanctioned to STPs and Rs 1,200 crore have been granted for drinking water. These projects are being taken up keeping in mind the needs of the people in the coming 15 years,” the Mayor said.
She said the civic body is ready to take necessary measures so that the new projects were completed within the stipulated period. “Based on the instructions of the State government, the civic body is ready to extend full support while the projects are underway. Once the STPs are operational, the functioning of these plants will also be monitored,” the Mayor said.
