Construction of 826 modern bus shelters including refurbishment of old bus shelters has been taken up by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) under public-private partnership (PPP) mode. Bids have been finalised for three of the four packages with private developers for design, build, finance, operation and transfer (DBFOT) basis, and works in this regard will be completed within six months after signing of agreements with these developers, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao said
yesterday.
Responding to a question in the Legislative Council here, the Minister said there are about 1,221 bus shelters existing within GHMC limits and a further 47 sites have been identified for development of bus bays.
Following Request For Proposal (RFP) invited by GHMC for construction of model bus shelters, a concession agreement was signed with successful bidders and will be completed within six months after signing the final agreement.
