The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to increase the number of circles from the present 24 to 30. The new circles will be formed on the day of Dasara.
According to GHMC officials, the corporation, in order to give better services to the citizens, has decided to increase the number of circles.A senior GHMC official told that in order to avoid the revenue glitches in the new districts, the boundaries of six circles would be reorganised in such way that they would be part of one single district.
For instance, some parts of LB Nagar circle falls under
two districts (Hyderabad and Rangareddy). He said the boundaries of LB Nagar circle would be changed in such way that it would be part of only one district.
This would become possible by increasing the number of circles, the official said. The GHMC official further stated that the corporation had already begun the exercise to reorganise the circles.
He said there had been some objection from the public representatives of Charminar and Yakutpura circles on reorganisation. However, the GHMC would complete the process of reorganisation by Friday, he added.
