GHMC to intensify Swachh Bharat

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Commission (GHMC) commissioner B Janardhan Reddy on Friday said the managements of hotels and function halls were asked to initiate in-situ composting, bio-methanisation or any other waste management techniques as mandated in the MSW Rules, 2016 in order to intensify the Swachh Bharat movement. 

The GHMC had initiated a number of awareness programmes at household level, shops and



establishments, hotels and function halls so as to ensure waste disposal is followed as per Municipal Solid Waste, 2016. 

Janardhan Reddy said the corporation had also asked hotels, function halls to file a self declaration on in-situ composting by June 4. The self declaration form for hotels and function halls is available in all circle offices and on GHMC website www.ghmc.gov.in.
