The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will plant one crore saplings across its circles starting from July 12 as part of the third phase of Haritha Haram project. During the meeting held on Monday, GHMC officials informed that 5.81 lakh plants would be planted in open spaces, avenue plants, green curtains, green ways, lakes, parks and vertical gardens, etc, in a span of three
months.
Along with GHMC officials, this project would be supported by various NGOs, schools and college students. The public and private sector officials also discussed the issue of distributing 0.50 lakh saplings among government as well as private sectors. Another 93.7 lakh homestead plants will be distributed under the scheme.
