The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has made elaborate arrangements to launch the sixth phase of Haritha Haram programme by planting 2.5 crore saplings in its limits, said Mayor Bonthu Rammohan here on Wednesday.
He along with MLA Danam Nagender, Corporator Gadwal Vijayalaxmi and municipal officials inspected the GHMC Vijaya nursery at MP MLAs Colony where about three lakh saplings of various
types were raised. Mayor appealed to citizens to participate and cooperate in making green Hyderabad.
Rammohan said the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao fixed the target of planting 2.5 crore saplings and as per the directions of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, KT Rama Rao, a green action plan was prepared in 150 wards of GHMC.
