Mayor Bonthu Rammohan on Wednesday announced that all the employees working in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) would be provided with health cards.
In a meeting with sanitary supervisors, sanitary jawans and medical officers, the Mayor said that discussions were already underway with insurance agencies and guidelines were being framed to issue health cards to GHMC employees.
The Mayor said that he has discussed the issue of giving lands or constructing houses to GHMC staff and Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD)
K.T. Rama Rao responded positively to the proposal.
Rammohan said authorities would strengthen vigilance and enforcement wings to tackle illegal constructions and violation of rules and regulations. A special dress code would also be provided to sanitary supervisors and jawans used for enforcement.
Rammohan said no outsourcing employee working in the civic body would be removed. GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy, Additional Commissioners, Musharaf Ali, Ravi Kiran, Raghu Prasad and other senior officials were present.
