GHMC to replace bins with compactors

The GHMC is planning to replace all dustbins with portable compactors. These compactors can be taken directly to Jawahar Nagar for emptying and while one is sent, another will be placed in its place. The decision was taken after a team visited the waste-to-energy plant in New Delhi.

“GHMC is planning to

place one portable compactor in each ward,” Arvind Kumar, MA&UD principal secretary, told. “Officers have been asked to prepare a detailed project report based on the population in each ward and number of collection points,’ said city mayor Bonthu Rammohan.
