The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will set up musical water fountains at Mir Alam Park at a cost of Rs 2.90 crore. The GHMC Standing Committee on Thursday approved the plan to float tenders for executing the works.
Developed at a cost of about Rs 2.51 crore in an area of six acres, the park has many facilities for visitors, especially children. It also has open gyms, play area for
children, water fountains, a mini science park, statues and other facilities.
Moreover, efforts are being intensified to set up roof top solar panels on the GHMC buildings to produce 941 KV power. The project will be maintained by an agency for five years. The committee approved 13 proposals put forward by the municipal corporation, said a press release.
