GHMC to take up revision of electoral rolls

On the directions of Election Commission of India (ECI), the special summary revision of photo electoral rolls, 2017 in respect of 15 Assembly constituencies of Hyderabad district would be taken up from October 31.

GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy held a meeting with political parties on Monday in connection with this. Draft publication of rolls (final electoral rolls published on September 9 under SSR-2016) will be published on October 31. The period for filing of claims and objections is from October 31 to November 30.

The reading of



relevant part, section of photo electoral rolls in GHMC  and RWA meetings etc and verification of names will be held on November 5 and 19.Special campaign with booth level agents (BLAs) of political parties for receiving claims and objections will be taken up on November 13 and 27.

Disposal of claims and objections will be done by December 15. Updating the database, merging of photographs and printing of supplementary list will be done December 31.

The final list of electoral rolls will be published on Janaury 14, 2017.
