GHMC to take up road repair works on war footing: B. Janardhan Reddy

GHMC Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy directed the Engineering officials to take up road repairing works on a war-footing which are damaged due to heavy rains since a few days.

The Commissioner held a review meeting with the Engineering Officials and instructed them to take up immediate road repairs for the convenience of the citizens on priority and also to call for the tender process immediately. He said the GHMC Emergency teams are working 24×7 to clear the debris and waste materials on the roads due to heavy rains.



He also directed the Town Planning officials to personally monitor the situation and evict people from dilapidated buildings.

The Commissioner said the GHMC has provided Medical camps at 28 areas where 1,500 got benefited and got medical facilities. The Entomology wing was also taking up Anti-Larva Operations to control mosquito menace. There are 185 lakes out of which 106 are full and another 54 lakes are full of water up to 75%. The GHMC also provided 6,000 food packets to the affected people.
