GHMC to use drones to kill mosquitoes in Hyderabad lakes

The GHMC has taken the move after they successfully sprayed the chemicals on Gurunatham lake in Miyapur for the first time using drones in March this



year. And the same will be repeated across all the lakes, except which are under beautification work, said D Hari Chandana, Additional Commissioner (Lakes) and Serilingampally Zonal Commissioner. The drone has carried about eight to nine litres of chemical earlier and now it is modified and can carry 16 to 17 litres of chemical. It has been developed by enthusiasts at T-Hub. The technique has been introduced to reduce manpower.
