GHMC urges hotels management to open toilets for all

GHMC wants hotel managements to permit general public to use toilets in the hotel premises and efforts are being taken up to make hotel managements to display public toilet boards in the hotel premises.

To this effect, a special drive would be launched next week to create awareness among people and hotel managements, said GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy.The municipal corporation had made 365 fuel stations managements in the city repair their defunct toilets and make them operational for the convenience of the general public.

There are over 600 public toilets in the city and GHMC is constructing several public toilets, including She Toilets in



different areas in the city.Authorities are laying emphasis on provision of public toilets in the city and accordingly, the municipal corporation is seeking the cooperation of corporate companies in establishing public toilets under their corporate social responsibility related activities.

Most corporate companies have extended their support in setting up 60 She Toilets in Hyderabad, officials said.

Among all the companies, Bharat Dynamics Limited helped in setting up 30 She Toilets, HUDCO granted funds for 15 toilets, and NMDC for five toilets. These toilets are being established at various tourist spots, commercial hubs and other public locations.
