Nehru Zoological Park here has received a pair of Giraffe named Sunny (Male – 3 Years, 9 Months old) and Bubli (Female – 2 Years old) from Zoological Garden, Alipore, Kolkata, West Bengal. These animals arrived safely on Thursday late night at Nehru Zoological Park. The duo was bought as part of animal exchange between Zoological Garden, Alipore, Kolkata, West Bengal and Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad.

The Nehru Zoological Park has already given three pairs of Mouse Deer (3 Males : 3 Females), one pair of



Jaguar (1 Male : 1 Female) and 1 Pair of Asiatic Lions (1 Male : 1 Female) to Alipore Zoo as part of the animal exchange program approved by The Central Zoo Authority, New Delhi. 

The Giraffes will be kept in the quarantine and will not be exposed to any other person other than veterinary staff and animal keepers till the quarantine period of four weeks was over. Then the Giraffe pair will be released for public display in newly designed enclosure.
