The
Minister for IT and Industries, K T Rama Rao, announced on Wednesday that a
global investors’ summit will be organised in Hyderabad in March solely to
promote the textile sector in the State.
He was speaking to the media after calling on the Union
Minister of State for Textiles, Smriti Irani, in New Delhi when he sought her
support to make the summit a success. Irani not only assured the Minister of
the
Centre’s support but said she would also participate in the summit and
wanted it to be scheduled on a convenient date.
Rama Rao said that the key announcement pertaining to
textile promotion and policy was expected at the summit. The summit will
provide a global platform for interaction with investors being invited in large
numbers from different countries as well as within the country.
