Telangana will achieve a revolutionary development in the coming few years, said IT and Municipal Administration Ministration Minister, K T Rama Rao here on Friday.
The State would witness Green Revolution, White Revolution, Pink Revolution and Blue Revolution simultaneously and strengthen the rural economy in the State like never before, he said addressing the media
after releasing the Godavari water along with Finance Mnister T Harish Rao into Ranganayaka Sagar. Once completed, the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, Palamuru and Sitarama projects, which will irrigate 1 crore acres, will fuel these four revolutions, he said.
Since Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has designed each and every project to fill over 46,000 minor irrigation lakes in Telangana, which in turn will see rearing and breeding of fish all round the year because of abundant avialbility of water. Free sheep distribution scheme will turn the State into the best meat producer in the country ushering in the green and blue revolution, the Minister said.
With the government achieving the record
feat of making Godavari water available to farmers in the district, the erstwhile Medak district, which was once backward, will become prosperous once the State government fills the Kondapochamma Sagar and Mallanna Sagar reservoirs in the next few months. Siddipet will emerge as a model district and attract numerous industries in the coming days.
Stating that Telangana government under the leadership of Chandrashekar Rao and Harish Rao, who held the Irrigation Ministry in the past, spearheaded a movement to complete projects in a short time, Rao said that the farmers and villagers must lead a similar movement at villages to dig minor canals to fill up all the lakes and get the fields irrigated.
Hailing the sacrifices of the project oustees, the IT Minister said that they knew the pain of displacement because of their paternal grandmother and maternal grandmother families were displaced under Upper Manir and Lower Manir Dams respectively. He congratulated all the workers, engineers and local leaders for completing the project in a short time.
