Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday said that the government was examining to provide relief to the police personnel by offering either a weekly off or a holiday once in ten days. The issue came up during the Question Hour in the Assembly on Thursday when TRS member B Suman asked whether the government had any proposal to provide weekly off to the police personnel on the lines of other States.

While the Home Minister Md Mahmood Ali was replying to the question, the Chief Minister intervened and said that the police job was strenuous. Though the duty is for eight hours, the police personnel were working beyond their time. There will be no output if individual is over stressed, he said. "Government is examining this and we will take a decision in a short period. We can't say weekly off but asked the DGP to decrease the stress. If not weekly off, the police personnel will be getting

one holiday in ten days," said KCR.

The chief minister said that the city would have police centres with helipad facility in all corners. He said that Hyderabad was one of the major metros in the country and it is not like the other metros as the city has better weather compared to other places in the country. KCR further said that government took many decisions for the police department. The salaries of home guards were increased phenomenally and by their retirement they would get Rs 50,000 per month.

The traffic police were given risk allowances. The government has also bringing up integrated command control, which is a fusion of technology, he said. Earlier, Mahmood Ali said that the government was modernising the police stations with Rs 350 crore. The Command Control at Banjara Hills would be completed by December 2019.
