On the eve of Ramzan, the State government will be hosting a Iftar party for Muslims on June 18 at Lal Bahadur Shastri stadium in the city. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had been hosting Iftar parties for Muslims during Ramzan for the past two years. During this period, the State government distributes a sari, five metre cloth for kurtha and pyjama, a skull cap (Topi) to the head of the family and one kg of vermicelli to each family
member.
This year, free clothes would be distributed to more than two lakh families across the State as against 1.80 lakh last year. The beneficiaries will be identified by a committee headed by the local Imam of the respective mosque. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to make necessary arrangements for the successful conduct of the party.
