Government will organise a farewell for Narasimhan tomorrow

The government will organise a farewell for the outgoing Governor ESL Narasimhan on September 7, a day before the swearing in of the new Governor Tamilisai Soundar Rajan.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, his Cabinet colleagues, MPs, MLAs and MLCs will take part in the meeting. Elaborate arrangements are being made for the occasion.

Narasimhan belongs to the 1968 batch of IPS from AP cadre. On his retirement as the director of the Intelligence Bureau in December, 2006, he was



appointed as the Governor of Chhattisgarh on January 19, 2007.

He took additional charge as the acting Governor of Andhra Pradesh on December 27, 2009. He was formally appointed as the Governor of AP on January 23, 2010. After bifurcation of the State, he was appointed as the Governor of both the Telugu States from June 2, 2014.

He was relieved as the Governor of AP after the appointment of Biswabhusan Harichandan as new Governor of the State.
