A long-awaited
project came closer to reality when Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor
E.S.L. Narasimhan laid the foundation stone for an approximately Rs. 90-core
expansion project of the Raj Bhavan in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister
K. Chandrasekhar Rao early on Wednesday.
The project for which
an administration sanction of Rs. 97.50 crore and technical sanction of Rs. 87
crore has been accorded, includes construction of 185 staff quarters, a
3-storeyed school building to accomodate 500
students with a playground
spanning 11,690 square feet, a 500-seater, 3-storeyed community hall and a
4-storeyed police barracks to accomodate 150 personnel.
Mr. Chandrasekhara Rao came to the venue at about 8.30 a.m. and after spending a few minutes with Mr. Narasimhan at the Raj Bhavan, escorted the First Citizen to the project site. Ministers who were present included Etala Rajender, T. Harish Rao and Jupally Krishna Rao, apart from Advisors to Government A.P.V.N. Sarma and A.K. Mohanthy.
