Hyderabad: Nearly 5,000 people are expected to participate in the Osmania University Centenary Run to be flagged off by the Governor ESL Narasimhan on March 11 at 7 AM.

Announcing this at a press conference, Prof. R. Limbadri, Officer on Special Duty, Osmania University, said that the 6 KM run would start and terminate at Arts College after passing through the main University road to the Engineering College. Participants have been asked to arrive at the venue by 6.30 AM as the entry roads from Tarnaka and NCC gate would be closed.

Prof. L. Rathod, Principal, College of Physical Education, said that water and refreshment arrangements were



being made enroute. A team of medics comprising doctors, physiotherapists would be available.

Technical officials from the sports departments of colleges will assist in the smooth conduct of the run, he disclosed and added that award winning athletes will be among the 250 who will lead the run.

A special enclosure is being set up for senior citizens in front of Arts college to attend the inaugural, he added. He appealed to the students and the general public to take part in the historic event.

Prof. Vishnu Dev, OU NSS Coordinator, said that NSS and NCC volunteers would also be taking part in the run.
