Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari on Friday said that irregularities have been identified in 16 out of 511 Madrasas supported under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
Replying to a question to a raised by Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy during Question Hour in Legislative Council, the Deputy CM said that the irregularities were noticed in 16 Madrasas of Hyderabad pertaining to 2014-15.
He said a preliminary enquiry was conducted by the Additional State
Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, based on which 5 Deputy Inspectors of Schools, 2 Superintendents, 2 Senior Assistants and one School Assistant have been suspended for the fake enrolment of students and payment of honorarium to the Vidya Volunteers who were not engaged at all.
He said that the enquiry was under progress as per CCA Rules.
He also said that with Aadhar Card linkage, during the current academic year, only 10,000 students were registered.
