Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiam Srihari said the Telangana Government was committed in regularising the services of contract lecturers in the State.
The Government has already initiated the procedure but a few student unions from Osmania University had approached the court, the Minister said during question hour in the Legislative Assembly.The High Court had directed the State Government not to take any decision on the issue until a verdict was declared. Once the court orders



are issued, the procedure would be completed, he said.
The government has already increased the salaries of 3,687 contract lecturers from Rs.18,000 to Rs.27,000 per month. Likewise, efforts are on to revise the salaries of contracts lecturers working in polytechnic and degree colleges in the State.
The Minister said the government was laying emphasis on improving basic amenities in all the government junior colleges and necessary funds would be allocated for the purpose.
