Govt Committed to Leveraging Modern Tech for National Security: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh yesterday called upon the youth to inculcate a scientific temper and excel in frontier technologies by making the best use of the internationally competitive infrastructure made available in the country. He said the government is committed to harnessing modern technology for the safety and security of the nation.

Addressing a large number of students after inaugurating Vigyan Vaibhav-2025 at Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad, a two-day science and technology extravaganza organised in Hyderabad, the Defence Minister emphasised that the application of science plays a key role in the all-round development of humankind. He said that progressive development in science remained a major factor in economic growth. He laid emphasis on the healthy scientific ecosystem required to make the young generation future-ready.

Stating that the orientation of war is increasingly moving from hardware to software, Mr. Singh said the new technological breakthroughs are on the horizon, and we have to take the lead in transformative



technologies like artificial intelligence, quantum computing, machine learning, and clean tech. He said the country can remain strong and secure in adverse situations if it has solutions to critical technological challenges.

Speaking on the occasion, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the responsibility of safeguarding the country lies with the youth. Seeking cooperation from the Centre, Mr. Reddy said efforts will be made to promote India as the number one country in the defence sector.

Speaking on the occasion, Aeronautical Society of India, Dr. Satish Reddy explained the role of innovation for the country to become a developed one.

Vigyan Vaibhav has been jointly organised by DRDO, the Aeronautical Society of India, and the Kalam Institute of Youth Excellence to commemorate National Science Day. The event brings together policymakers, scientists, industry leaders, academicians, and young innovators to discuss and showcase advancements that will shape the nation’s future.
