The government has decided to introduce industry-specific courses and programmes in the curriculum as part of its perspective plan for 2018-19.New programmes are likely to be sanctioned in various sectors such as mining, granite, textile, pharmacy, automobile and construction technology.
The Telangana State Council of Higher Education
(TSCHE) has proposed to start new programmes in 14 areas. With increase in number of factories, micro small and medium enterprises and the handloom sector, the TSCHE has constituted a committee consisting of academics, with industry experts and other stakeholders as members which will look into the syllabus reforms for various courses.
