Medak: Christmas was celebrated in a grand manner at the historical Medak Cathedral Church on Wednesday. The festivities commenced with the procession of Cross led by Bishop of Medak Diocese A C Solomon Raj at 4.30 am on Wednesday. Devotees who started coming to the cathedral since Tuesday night, continued to visit on Wednesday.
Bishop Solomon Raj addressed the gathering after participating in the Aradhanotsavams. Over a lakh people participated in
the prayers at Medak alone. The temporary shops set up on the premises of the church also did brisk buisness with both young and the old going around them buying gifts and eatables. On Wednesday, all roads led to Medak as worshippers across Telangana, and those from neighbouring Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh arrived in large numbers.
The police too made elaborate arrangements keeping in view the rush.
