Applications for Haj 2016 would be issued and received from January 14 to February 8, said Prof. S. A. Shukoor, Special Officer, Andhra Pradesh State Haj Committee, here on Saturday.
He said the Haj Committee of India has finalized Action Plan for Haj 2016, according to which Qurrah (Draw of lots) for selection of Haj pilgrims would be held any time between March 15 and 23. He said this year Haj Quota would be allotted to the States on the basis of 2011 census. He said the
Telangana State Haj Committee would make arrangements for the pilgrims of Andhra Pradesh Haj pilgrims. ‘This year, the Haj is fixed on September 10 for which Haj chartered flights will take off from August 4 to September 5.’
He said on his representation, the Haj Committee of India has dropped the idea of providing suit cases to the Haj pilgrims. He appealed to the individuals, who intend to submit Haj Applications, to get their passports ready, as they would have to submit copies of passports along with applications. He further said the International Passports should be digital printed i.e. Machine Readable. Haj Applications could also be submitted online, he added.
