A coordination meeting of all 42 departments engaged in the smooth conduct of Haj pilgrimage to take stock of the arrangements was held at the Haj House in Hyderabad on Monday.
Pilgrims numbering 6,800 are expected to make the trip from Hyderabad embarkation point. Of them 5,650 are from Telangana state and the rest from Karnataka and Maharashtra. The Haj camp will commence from June 5 and flights will take off from June 7 to June 22. Chartered flights will carry the passengers.
"The Telangana state government has completed all
arrangements for the trip. Our government is in the forefront of respecting the sentiments of all religions. Our government is taking a keen interest in the issue to make the trip a success," said Scheduled Castes Development, Minority Welfare and Senior Citizen Welfare minister Koppula Eswar.
The meet was attended by MLA Jaffer Hussain, Haj Committee chairman Mohammad Salim, government adviser A.K. Khan, State Wakf Board Chairman Mohammad Masiullah Khan, minority corporation officer Shafiullah Khan among others.
