Harikrishna cremated with State honours

Nandamuri Harikrishna, son of TDP founder NT Rama Rao, who was killed in a road accident in Nalgonda district on Wednesday, was cremated at Mahaprasthanam crematorium in Jubilee Hills here on Thursday, with full State honours.

The funeral procession, which began from the actor-politician’s residence at Mehdipatnam around 2 p.m., passed through Masab Tank, Mehdipatnam, Nanalanagar X Road, Toli Chowki, Whisper Valley T junction and reached Mahaprasthanam at about 3.30 pm.

A large gathering of celebrities, politicians, and relatives, apart from his fans, participated in the funeral



procession. His elder son, Kalyan Ram, performed the last rites of Harikrishna.

Prior to the funeral procession, scores of Nandamuri fans and supporters thronged Harikrishna’s residence in Mehdipatnam to take part in the final journey. Scores of fans showered flower petals on his cortege along the way.

In view of the thousands of people in the procession, a large number of police personnel were deployed to maintain law and order. They had a tough time in controlling the fans as most of them tried to get closer to NTR Jr. in the procession.
