Health minister T. Harish Rao on Wednesday called upon R&B officials to accelerate construction of Warangal health city and ready it by Dussehra.
Rao sought similar speedy construction of TIMS hospitals in Sanath Nagar, LB Nagar, and Alwal so that they can start extending advanced medical care to those residing in the suburbs.
During a review meeting to take stock of the progress of various projects, he stressed on the importance of establishing Tims, whose services would be on par with AIIMS in Delhi; construction of eight
teaching hospitals and project designs of nine medical colleges.
The minister instructed Aarogyasri CEO Vishalaksh to come up with a new policy as the government wanted to widen the scope of Aarogyasri and make it more accessible to the public. He appreciated the approval for six of the nine new medical colleges in the district.
The meeting was attended by health secretary Rizvi, health & family welfare commissioner Swetha Mahanthi, DME Ramesh Reddy and DH Srinivasa Rao.
