Likening the Congress members to the Kauravas and the BRS leaders as Pandavas, who followed the path of dharma and righteousness, finance minister T. Harish Rao said that the ruling was poised to retain power in the ensuing elections.

He was speaking after distributing ID cards to fishermen at a market yard in Siddipet on Sunday. Harish Rao lashed out at the Congress leaders for making false and unwarranted allegations against the ruling party.

"In the fight between truth and lies, Telangana voters will back truth to the hilt and expose the lies of Congress. In the past, it was difficult for fishermen to get membership but now everyone is happy," the

minister said.

Harish Rao said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was the only leader to have spent Rs2000 crore on the welfare of fishermen. Fish used to be imported earlier. The situation has been transformed and today fishermen from Telangana are exporting fish, thanks to the state government’s timely assistance to them.

"Plenty of water is available in Telangana and we are supplying water to fish tanks. Fishermen were bolstered after the government started providing financial support. The reach of Telangana fishermen has spread into Vijayawada, Maharashtra, and West Bengal," Harish Rao said.
