Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s nephew and former irrigation minister T Harish Rao and his uncle and cousin K T Rama Rao have fallen out, the Siddipet legislator on Thursday resigned as honorary president of the Transport Mazdoor Union (TMU) of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). In the last few days, Harish Rao has been seen vacating his official bungalow at Road No 12, Banjara Hills, following feelers sent to him that he will not be inducted into the cabinet of the TRS
government.
Rao sent his resignation letter to the union’s general secretary Ashwadhama Reddy. In his letter, he pointed out that the union was floated during the movement for a separate state. He said it was with an intention to make RTC staff participate in the struggle that the union was formed, adding that after the state’s formation, he had to devote time to other duties and thus could not play an active role as TMU honorary president.
