Senior BRS leader T Harish Rao slammed the Congress government for deceiving people of Telangana on all fronts in its first year of administration. He suggested that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy should celebrate the failures of the Congress government rather than its successes which are nowhere to be found.
In a statement, Harish Rao said the Congress government failed to deliver on its promises and pushed Telangana into regression during its ten-month rule. He demanded that Revanth Reddy apologise to the people for his government’s failures.
“The Warangal Declaration, which is part of Congress’s electoral campaign, has been reduced to a farce. None of the promises made to farmers, women, and other sections have been fulfilled. The loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh remains incomplete. Farmers neither received the promised financial assistance of Rs 15,000 per acre, nor the tenant farmers received Rs 12,000 per annum under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS),” he said.
The senior BRS MLA lambasted the Congress for organising a celebratory rally in Warangal, questioning, “What is Revanth Reddy celebrating? The same venue that saw promises to farmers is now being used to
distract from his failures.”
Harish Rao stated that numerous sections of the State, were facing struggles under Congress rule. “From farmers waiting for loan waivers to students deprived of scholarships, government employees demanding DA and PRC, and the elderly awaiting enhanced social security pensions – every segment of society has been let down,” he said. He also criticised the government’s inability to address critical issues like insect-infested meals in Gurukuls, delayed salaries for Anganwadi workers, and unresolved problems for gram panchayat staff.
He said Telangana, which saw unprecedented growth under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership, has regressed a decade in just ten months span of the Congress regime. “Congress succeeded in bringing people from all walks of life to the streets,” he said.
Harish Rao demanded immediate implementation of the six guarantees promised in the Congress manifesto, including Rs 2,500 monthly assistance for women, gold under Kalyana Lakshmi, and interest-free loans for self-help groups. “Spending crores of rupees on advertisements would not make lies true. Revanth Reddy must apologise and fulfill these promises,” he asserted.
