Irrigation minister T Harish Rao will hold a meeting with chief engineers on October 18 for chalking out an irrigation action plan for rabi season.At a review with officials on Thursday, Harish Rao said with all the projects and irrigations tanks brimming with water every drop should be utilised properly.
“We have to make arrangements so that no single drop of water is wasted during rabi season,” Harish Rao said. He added that the would convene a meeting of engineers on October 18 for
preparing an action plan for rabi season. Harish Rao directed the officials to provide water to 9 lakh acres under SRSP in rabi. The pending repairs under SRSP should be taken up on a war-footing basis, he directed the officials.
The minister also wanted the officials to provide water to 6.4 lakh acres under Nagarjuna Sagar left bank during Rabi. Harish Rao also reviewed the progress of works on Sitarama and Bhakta Ramadas projects in Khammam district and Dindi in Nalgonda district.
