All arrangements are in place for the special 10-day joint drive of Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi programmes along with Haritha Haram scheduled to commence on Thursday across the State.

As per the directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the special drive will focus on improving sanitation, prevention of seasonal diseases and also increasing green cover in both urban and rural local bodies.

On the first day, the programmes will kick-start with planting of saplings across the State followed by village and ward level meetings to identify prevailing issues, possible solutions and finalise the programme schedule for the next 10 days. This is the fourth edition of Palle Pragathi and third of Pattana Pragathi in which Ministers and elected representatives along with officials and civic organisations will participate in a large numbers. 

Widespread and voluntary public participation would be encouraged for speedy completion of works.

During these 10 days, it has been decided to complete pending works pertaining to construction of Vaikuntadhamams, dumping yards and other works, failing which action will



be initiated against the officials responsible. A Power Day also will be observed for one day when electricity-related repair works will be carried out. In urban areas, the officials have been directed to identify 5-10 acre of land for development of nature parks (Prakruthi Vanams) and commence necessary work immediately. 

The authorities will also initiate the tender process for construction of integrated vegetable and meat markets. The Chief Minister has already warned the officials that any negligence towards completing the works will not be tolerated.

The State government will also take up massive plantation drive as part of Telangana ku Haritha Haram during the next 10 days. With about 25 crore saplings available across the State, officials are gearing up to plant over 19.91 crore saplings by taking up multi-level avenue plantation along National and State highways as well as panchayat roads. Officials will take up Yadadri (Miyawaki) plantation model and plant saplings at all possible locations. About six saplings will be supplied to each family which will also be held responsible for their survival.
