The Telangana High Court adjourned the criminal petition filed by Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Member of Parliament from Karimnagar, and President of the state BJP, seeking to quash the order of the district court at Hanamkonda in allowing the remand report of police to send him to judicial custody in the case pertaining to the Hindi question paper leak of SSC exams.
Advocate General B.S. Prasad submitted to the court that the case filed by Sanjay is infructuous in view of his filing bail petition and release from jail. Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan also observed that nothing remains in the case.
In the meanwhile, an advocate sought an adjournment as L.
Ravichander, senior counsel appearing for Sanjay, will argue the case.
Following this, Prasad submitted that Sanjay was not cooperating with the investigation and he should be directed to surrender his mobile phone to facilitate the investigation. He also said that bail granted to Sanjay may be cancelled as there was a likelihood of destruction of evidence. However, the court suggested an appropriate petition for cancellation of the bail.
Later, the Chief Justice directed the advocate general to file an appropriate affidavit for passing orders and adjourned the criminal petition to April 24 for further adjudication
