The Telangana High Court on Friday directed former Rangareddy district collector Dr S. Harish to appear before it on January 5 in a contempt case.

The High Court had in 2020 sentenced him to four weeks imprisonment and a penalty of Rs 2,000 for non-compliance of the court orders related to de-notifying of 20 acres of land belonging to Pratap Jungle Resorts Ltd at Rajendranagar from the prohibitory list of lands.

On his appeal,

the division bench this October set aside the sentence of imprisonment and penalty imposed against Dr Harish, following the official’s undertaking to the court that the orders would be complied within a week.

But, the contemnor Pratap Jungle Resorts filed an interim application before the High Court that the orders had not been implied. Following it, the court summoned Harish for his submissions.
