Hyderabad Cricket Association president A Jagan Mohan Rao congratulated the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team on winning the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai on Sunday.
Interestingly, HCA Secretary R Devraj is the manager of the Indian team and he flew back during the league stage because of the demise of his mother only to rejoin the team again. In a way, Devraj joins P R Man Singh, who was also HCA secretary, when he was the manager of the victorious Indian team in the 1983 World
Cup.
“My heartiest congratulations to the Team India cricketers who are bringing the Champions Trophy to the country for the third time (2002, 2013, 2025),” the HCA chief said in a statement.
“Your bravery, exemplary and outstanding performance will stand in history as an inspiration to the budding cricketers. Once again hearty congratulations to Rohit Sharma army, head coach Gautam Gambhir and his support staff, and team India manager, our HCA secretary R Devraj,” Jagan Mohan said.
