Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy here on Saturday made it clear that Hyderabad Central University research scholar Rohith Vemula’s suicide case does not come under the purview of the State Government and the Central Government alone will
handle the case.
Speaking to mediapersons after inspecting arrangements for the TRS public meeting at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on Saturday, the Home Minister said the TRS government does not want to intervene in Rohith’s suicide case and the ongoing agitation. “We don’t want to involve in the case and burn our fingers”, he said, adding that the State government has already recommended a CBCID inquiry into the case, which has sparked countrywide outrage and awaiting the Centre’s permission
