Health Minister visits Niloufer Hospital

Hyderabad: Health Minister, Dr. C Laxma Reddy on Tuesday visited State-run Niloufer Hospital and interacted with patients and doctors for over an hour. The Minister inspected the recently procured medical infrastructure at the new intensive block of the maternity hospital.

Dr. Laxma Reddy urged health care workers, especially those in the maternity hospitals to brace for a possible rise in inflow pregnant women to Government hospitals, once the ‘Amma Odi’ and ‘KCR Kits’ initiatives are launched by the month-end.

 “We are expecting at least 20 per cent rise in admissions of pregnant



women in Government hospitals in the State. I urge health care workers to be ready to handle the jump in patient-inflow to health institutions,” Dr. Laxma Reddy said.

The direct cash benefit scheme for mothers and infants, to be launched by this month-end, will go a long way in reducing maternal and infant mortality rate in the State, Dr. Laxma Reddy said.

Nampally MLA from MIM party, Jaffer Hussain Meraj, Director of Medical Education, Dr. M. Ramani, Niloufer Hospital, Superintendent, Dr. K. Ramesh Reddy  and other top health officials were present.
