In its bid to tackle the problem of traffic congestion in Cyberabad limits, police have imposed restrictions on heavy vehicles like delivery trucks, water tankers, construction vehicles and tractors during specific hours in order to ensure smooth flow of traffic during peak hours. 

Construction and demolition vehicles will not be allowed to ply on the roads from 10 pm to 7 am the next day while flyovers in Cyberabad will be closed for heavy, goods, and slow-moving vehicles. Police will seize vehicles if there are repeated violations. 

The first fortnight of



this year have seen 154,000 violations, while 11,000 cases have been booked against lorry drivers, said additional DCP (traffic) P. Srinivas.

Business establishments have been asked not to allow parking on the roads by their customers while pedestrians are advised to use designated facilities near the 55 Pelican signals. Multiplexes and hotels causing traffic congestion have been issued notices with a 15-day period to establish sufficient parking lots. Malls will be seized if they continue with such violations, he said.
