Heavy rain lashes Hyderabad

Heavy rains in the twin cities of Hyderabad since Friday evening have thrown normal life out of gear as water entered low lying areas creating huge traffic blocks at important locations and junctions. The rain started since 7 pm, it intensified at 9 pm and continued till 2 am in the night. Many roads were filled with knee-deep water in some



areas.

According to officials, 18 trees were uprooted. 26 places were water clogged while 129 nalas overflowed. Power disrupted at 30 localities. 7 cm rain was recorded in GHMC limits till 11 pm. The maximum rain occurred at Medchal, Uppal, Malkajgiri and Bandlaguda mandals.
