Hyderabad witnessed heavy rains on Wednesday night, which went on till early Thursday morning. The city experienced an average rainfall of 35.1 mm.
Several localities in the city, including Khairatabad, Balanagar, Saroornagar and Uppal received heavy rains overnight.
Kapra received the maximum rainfall of 118 mm, followed by Moulali, which witnessed 114.5 mm rain. Kukatpally, Serilingampally, Shaikpet, Hayathnagar and Malkajgiri also experienced moderate rains.
According to the forecast by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, the city will witness cloudy sky throughout the day, accompanied with light showers at isolated places, for the next few days.
Many districts
across Telangana also received heavy rainfall on Wednesday night. The highest rainfall of 40 mm was recorded in Adilabad.
Other districts, including Kamareddy, Nirmal, Kumuram Bheem, Mulugu, Jagtial and Bhadradri Kothagudem also witnessed heavy rainfall.
The authorities have also posted a five-day thunderstorm warning for several districts of Telangana.
According to IMD, heavy rain very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Kamareddy, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Kurnool.
