Heavy rains wreaked havoc across the state on Sunday, disrupting normal life. The intense rainfall caused rivulets and lakes to overflow, submerging roads and severely affecting the transport system. Waterlogging was reported in low-lying areas throughout the state, with the erstwhile Khammam and Warangal districts being the
hardest hit.
According to the Telangana Development Planning Society (TDPS), the highest rainfall recorded was 456.5 mm at Inugurthy in the Mahabubabad district. The average rainfall across the state was 98.2 mm, compared to the normal 5.7 mm.
