Moderate to heavy rains lashed different parts of the city as southwest monsoon remained benevolent after providing the city with surplus rains this month. Though the day began on a sunny note, by late afternoon, clouds gathered and rains began to lash.

Many parts of the city including Abids, MJ Market, Nallakunta, Himayatnagar and Puranapul had heavy rains with rain water flooding the roads. Caught by the surprise downpour, denizens tried to seek shelter while at some places two-wheelers were seen



wading through the rain water.

According to Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) data, Narayanaguda recorded highest rainfall of 76.8 mm followed by LB Stadium (68.8 mm), Red Hills (56.5 mm), Begum Bazar (53.8 mm) and Asifnagar (50.5mm).

The weather warning with Meteorological Centre, Hyderabad indicated thunderstorm accompanied with lightning were very likely to occur at isolated places while there was a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places over the State in next four days.
