High Court extends time for GO 123

Fri 12 Aug 2016, 12:19:56
A two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice U Durga Prasad on Thursday granted further time for certain clarifications for the Telangana government with regards to GO Ms 123.
It may be recalled that agricultural labour had challenged proceedings under GO Ms 123 contending that it was contrary to mandatory provisions of the Land Acquisition Act which not only provides for compensation but also for a

rehabilitation program.
The court had earlier permitted the government to go ahead with provisional registration of sale deeds subject to certain conditions to be in line with the requirements under the Acquisition Act. K Ramakrishna Reddy Telangana Advocate General placed before the court its new order GO 190. K S Murthy, advocate for the petitioners would point out that even the new government order fell woefully short of the responsibilities under the Acquisition Act.
