A high-level meeting is likely on July 3 to discuss the designs and plans for the construction of the new Secretariat building and the legislature complex.
All the department heads have been asked to work out and indicate the requirement of their respective office spaces. Minister for Welfare Koppula Eshwar said the Cabinet Sub-Committee constituted to make recommendations on the design and plans for the new Secretariat complex would meet to discuss its agenda. He also said he would meet the other members of the panel after reaching Hyderabad on Thursday. Sub-Committee Chairman V Prasanth Reddy will convene the panel meeting
soon.
Besides Prashant Reddy and Koppula Eshwar, Minister for Prohibition Srinivas Goud is also part of the committee. The department heads are already busy with the alternative arrangements to be made to accommodate their offices once the old secretariat blocks are demolished. The Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Secretariat building as well as the legislature complex on June 27. So far as the Secretariat building is concerned, the foundation stone be would be laid in front of the D Block. Arrangements are in progress for installing the plaque to be unveiled on the occasion.
